This month, I'll be finally releasing a collection that I spent just about the whole pandemic putting together, then putting off, then putting together... the experience of creating this collection definitely taught me a lot about myself and how I navigate the world, but that's just the tip of the iceberg -
Inspired by the pervasive solitude throughout my community and the world during COVID-19, I reflected on a dark and solitary period of my life where I had a lot of fun, but also made a lot of mistakes. Thus, "Alone for a While" was born - a retrospective collection of standards and original tunes that relate a narrative about an era of my 20s where I would do just about anything to avoid being alone with myself, often to my own detriment.
While the album officially distributes to social platforms later this month, I'll be letting listeners in on the journey early with an interactive digital experience full of bonus material and stories behind why I chose each song. As part of this launch experiment, I thought it would be special to bring "Alone for a While" truly to life for the first time, by inviting my quintet to do the album top-to-bottom with me, straight from my living room to yours.
