I wanted to celebrate a special Keyholder today - my friend and yours, Brent!
Since Brent was the FIRST PERSON to do the switch from Patreon, and I knew he had a prompt in the pile, I went ahead and put together this cute little song.
here’s a little live snippet of “Busy Busy Beatrice!”
Brent has a precious pet named Beatrice, and during last year’s “7 Songs in 7 Days” challenge, he submitted this prompt in her honor.
Because she is tiny, I liked the idea of a swingy song with lots of short rhythmic syllables, something that could almost feel like it was from a musical.
I might have taken that inspiration a little too seriously, since I realized shortly into it that it is pretty reminiscent of this song:
The B section is also melodically similar to an old standard called “Too Young” - but you know what?!
I had a deadline- and I decided “done” was better than trying rework the melody!
