It’s been a while since I’ve written a ballad, or anything super-music-theatre-y, but I come today bearing a new-song-gift that meets both of these criteria and even fits into the “winter holiday” or “fall holiday” categories for me personally.

This wouldn’t be the first time I’ve worked through writing a song thinking “well how would it sound and where would it go if Judy Garland sang it in the early 60s?”
I definitely didn’t plan for it so be so theatrical, and if I had known that’s where it was going to go, I would have warmed up! By the time I found the right key and had played through it a few times, my voice was not really holding up for how cold I was, so I sorta chickened out on the full delivery in the demo. Oh well. You’ll get the idea.
I’ll be playing this for you tomorrow, and I’ll be pulling up the session for the latest release (Too Many to Count) tomorrow for our Vault event!
