Hello December!
The latest:
It’s like I blinked and November was over.
I have to quickly address that… I wasn’t able to get the November song done in time. Racing the clock, I put a lot of long hours into getting “Carried Away” ready, but then at just about the final step things started going awry.
Because I don’t want to bore you with too much detail, I’ll spare you the full explanation, but basically, like the last song, I had more tracks than my current software status can handle so I had hoped/attempted to finish the final mix/edits in Logic on my husband’s machine (which has all the tracks I want) after grinding out all the other editing on mine in Ableton.
Unfortunately, I’m not as familiar with Logic, and there are some features “missing” that I kind of needed for this particular project. I tried to make it work anyway for a few hours of investment, only to discover that I had made things worse and needed to start over. By that point, I was about 4 hours away from midnight, and looking at more than 4 hours of work to get something that was even listenable. I was already supremely disappointed and burnt out so I knew I wasn’t going to be able to do good work at that point, so I had to call it a night.
This month's deliverable:
Now it’s December. In trying to look at the month and see when the hell I was going to get this, let alone anything else, done, I came to a terrible realization: I only have about 3 working days between now and Christmas where I don’t already have a gig or some other just-about-all-day commitment.
I am hoping to get you at a least a rough mix of “Carried Away” by mid-week next week. In all honesty, I am not sure what to do about the December deliverable at this point, because… I just don’t have any time. This might be one of those rare months where I have to wave my white flag and beg for forgiveness.

It’s not all bad news - I do have a special Vault Concert planned for you for December 14. Guitarist Ari Carvajal will join me for a special night of holiday songs we’re preparing just for you as an end-of-the-year-Keyholder-appreciation-concert!
At this time, I’m still only able to manage a consistent Friday morning livestream, though there might be some spots here and there where I can fit it in.
