Okay I think I really like this one, too. I actually got to spend some time with Eduardo today, which was really nice after all the work I've been doing and after him being gone at out of town gigs a lot last week and weekend.
The relevant part of the story is that we got to really hash out some ideas and thoughts and perspectives about a bunch of things, mostly work, but as social stuff tends to overlap in our line of work, we did dip into some personal things that have been bugging me that I haven't really spent time working out.
So this one is about a friend I really miss, we made music together in the past but over the last couple years specifically we have really drifted apart, but I'm not totally sure why. Sometimes I think I'm overthinking it, and sometimes I think there's some reason but I just haven't pinned down what it is, or what I did wrong yet.
Anyway, that's what this song is about. I was really REALLY not feeling up to writing today/tonight, but, honestly, this felt good to get out on paper...
Any Austin folk out there, I'm performing solo as background music tomorrow evening at the Wildflower Center. If you feel like sipping some Tito's and looking and flowers and hearing me improvise a set list then that will be the place to be! 🙂
