Hello March!

Concert: 03/22/2022

Last month was pretty wild (recap below), and somehow in my “trying to take things slow and easy” I still feel just as busy as ever. I am, however, feeling more in control and find myself doing more things I enjoy. For instance, I’m having a lot of fun working up material for Moorhaunter and it’s been a nice kindling for my creative spark.

There will be a LOT of livestream events earlier in the month, and then I’ll be taking some time off to visit some family in Illinois and do some Quarter 1 recuperation before the next big stretch (starting March 23, the day after our Vault Concert, until our next stream back: Disney Night on April 4).

As always, we’d love to have you join us for a live event if you can. You can check out the up-to-date calendar here, or, even better, opt-into push notifications about our community events in our forum (you can customize these so you’ll only get the notifications you want, btw).

This month’s VAULT concert will take place on:
March 22

You can watch the embed or find the link to enter via the monthly concert/events tab at the top of this page or from your Vault homepage. (You can also watch find the replay links from past concerts there.)
VAULT CONCERTS start at 8PM EST.

Here’s a world clock converter to help you calculate your time zone.

FEBRUARY RECAP:

Here in February at The Vault, I wrote a nostalgic cinematic/chill-hop inspired song for moorhaunter called “want it that way.”

I also sent over a couple cool live recordings from a recent event here in Austin at ACL Live Moody Theatre. A cover of The Pretenders’ “Don’t Get Me Wrong” (featuring a cornet solo by my friend and yours, multi-instrumentalist Oliver Steck, and a beautiful arrangement by Tosca String Quartet) and a swingin’ live arrangement of my original song, “Safe and Sound.”

Immediately after the big show, I spent a few days in Manhattan doing a taping for a mini TED talk event where I played a few original songs solo-acoustic in between a few speakers discussing business topics. It will air later in March and I will send you a link when it’s up.

We finally recommenced the “legacy” live stream channels by reuniting in One Big Dark Room back on February 1, reinstating Disney Night on 2/21, and a celebration/comeback to Crooner Coffee Hour on 2/25 (the show’s 4th anniversary)!

I’m still working out the kinks in the moorhaunter Twitch channel, but: (1) I’m really enjoying working on the material (2) the songs are coming along (3) I think I might have come up with a solution for the very frustrating sound problems I’ve been experiencing. Unfortunately, we didn’t "reach “affiliate” (a broadcaster’s “verification,” so to speak, in the twitch ecosphere which is granted based on key metrics such as time-streamed and followership) within the first month (which is okay, when things on my side didn’t feel really solid I didn’t want to promote it all that much if I’m being honest), which means I’ll need to keep doing regular events there until we get it, at which time we can start doing them once or twice a month, like we do for One Big Dark Room.
